This offer is for photographers who I have met or know from forums etc. so is not open to just anyone. If I don't know you then don't bother applying, you won't get any space and probably won't even get a reply. Here are all the other 'rules':
1: the aim of this little project is to help photographers who would otherwise have either no web presence (or a horrible little site covered in adverts from 'free' hosts) to get the opportunity to present their work to the world at large. Therefore I will not be hosting sites which have nothing to do with photography. What you want to do within photography is up to you, if you want a technical readout site then go for it, galleries etc. go for it. If you want to put up a site devoted to how to iron underwear then go swivel!
2: Breaching copyright is a major problem for professional photographers, they don't have hollywood budgets and can't absorb that impact on their wallets. It's against my hosts rules and against my personal morals as well. With this in mind, please try to use 'web quality' shots on your sites, they make for terrible prints so people might be encouraged to contact you if they like your work. That said, it's your site, if you want to put up full quality shots then I won't try and stop you. In addition to photos, copyright should not be breached on any other material either.
3: No porn! Artistic nudes aren't a problem but please be aware that if I receive a complaint I will have to remove the offending image or my suppliers could shut down the whole hosting idea which will be bad for everyone. Unfortunately this one isn't open to debate, even if the complaint is unjustified I will still have to remove the image as this is an agreement I have reached with my hosts who have a strict 'no porn' rule.
4: While I reserve the right to remove any user for any reason I want, or even no reason at all, I will always try to sort out a problem before taking any drastic action. People caught breaking rules will be asked to remove the offending files but if someone keeps doing it then they are going to have their site removed. Sorry to be a hard arse but this about the quality of our hosting community which I would like to keep as high as possible
5: Please take the time to read my providers Acceptable Usage Policy found here. People not conforming to my hosts AUP will be spoken to in the first instance but may have their site removed if the problems persist.
6: I will NOT keep any back ups of your data. If there is a problem with the servers and your data is lost only you will be able to upload your site again. Please bear this in mind and keep your site properly backed up. This has never happened with the provider I'm using but there's a first time for everything so be sensible and back up to at least 2 places if there's any data you can't replace.
7: Please provide links to other poijoy users sites on your links page, it's always nice to know that there are other people advertising you. Obviously the design of the site is completely up to you so if you don't want to include links then that's fine but I'm sure that those links will be greatly appreciated if you do decide to. An up to date list of sites can be found here
8: I am in no way a 'web professional' but I will always try to help you out as best I can. You can contact me by email or by raising a support ticket through your control panel. I can't guarantee that I'll see it right away as I have a life to live as well but I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as I see your ticket/email.
